As a Senior Research Analyst at The Plakhov Group, Yassine is conducting a comparative study of the democratic evolutions of Georgia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan in the last 30 years. He also reports on Wagner and Caucasus-related updates, and is the editor of The Plakhov Group's Reading List.

Yassine is currently pursuing a dual Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on international issues, developing countries and unconventional armed groups. Complementing his academic pursuits, Yassine has gained practical experience in the federal public service in the Defence, Finance and International Development portfolios.
