As a Grant Researcher and Writer at The Plakhov Group, Avishka helps to grow and expand the organization by identifying new grant, funding, and contracting opportunities.

With a deep interest in international development and public policy, Avishka has conducted field research in Kenya and has participated in various research projects, such as the G20 and G7 Research Group. She has presented at the Undergraduate Arts and Science Research Conference. Avishka is currently an Academic Peer Advisor at Trinity College, University of Toronto and works on various projects at the Asian Institute Migration Anaysis Society, a think tank based at the Munk School of Global Affairs.

Avishka is currently an undergraduate student pursuing an H.BA in a Political Science Specialist, minor in sociology at the University of Toronto.
